What is grounding?

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

Grounding involves reestablishing a connection between our physical bodies and the Earth's energy to restore an electrical equilibrium. When our body's electrical charge strays from that of the Earth's, we experience a state of being "ungrounded."

Grounding signifies the release of emotional and mental burdens, providing relief from the stresses and strains of our daily lives. Prolonged imbalances, especially those caused by an overemphasis on mental and emotional aspects, can result in physical manifestations.

The Earth's surface is rich in mobile electrons, naturally bestowing a negative charge upon us when we connect with it. This connection may bring various physical benefits, such as pain relief and a sense of overall well-being. It's like recharging your internal battery by plugging into the Earth's natural energy source.

Ways to Ground:

Nature Walks: Step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and connect with the natural world around you. Feel the earth beneath your feet, listen to the rustling leaves, and take in the beauty of the outdoors.

Mindful Meditation: Dedicate a few moments each day to quiet your mind. Focus on your breath, and let go of racing thoughts. Meditation can help you find your inner calm amidst the chaos.

Digital Detox: It's crucial to unplug from your devices regularly. Set boundaries for screen time, and take breaks to enjoy real-life interactions. Your mental well-being will thank you.

Cleansing Bath: Ah, one of my personal favorites! Soak in a warm bath with Epsom salts. Let the water cleanse your body and mind, washing away stress and tension. Down the drain, it goes!

Connecting to the Mother Tree: As I learned from a wonderful Shaman. Visualize yourself connecting to the roots of this majestic tree.

Gratitude Practice: Count your blessings and focus on what you're thankful for. Gratitude can shift your perspective and help you appreciate the present moment.
